Parking: Turn in the first entrance after going over the freeway bridge on Keeaumoku. Please do not park in reserved spaces. If all stalls are taken, go to the Makiki Street entrance near the community gardens for additional parking.

March 2009: Lee Laster, FBI Investigations

Lee Laster is a retired FBI Special Agent in Charge who participated in some major cases. Read about his experiences investigating major cases.

January 2009: Dave Wilson, Airplane Emergency Procedures and Crash Investigations

Dave Wilson is a former Navy pilot and Aloha Airlines captain. He currently flies a small private plane and a charter jet. Throughout his career he has been involved in safety issues and crash investigations. Read about his experiences with airplane emergency procedures and crash investigations.

November 2008: Victoria Kneubuhl, Play and Novel Writing

Victoria Kneubuhl is an award-winning playwright and mystery novel author. Read her advice about plotting and writing plays and novels.

September 2008: Thomas Holland, Skeletal Identification

Thomas Holland is the Scientific Director of the Department of Defense's Central Identification Laboratory, the largest skeletal identification lab in the world. Read more about him and what his lab does.

John Madinger

July 2008: John Madinger, U.S. Treasury Agent

John Madinger is a Senior Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department. Read his descriptions of investigative techniques. John is also the author of a police procedural and textbooks, available from Amazon or Borders.

March 2008 : Dr. Lee Goff, Forensic Entomologist

Dr. Lee Goff is one of only nine board certified entomologists in the U.S. Read about what bugs can tell investigators about a person's death.

January 2008: Roger Jellinek, Literary Agent

Roger Jellinek is a literary agent with Jellinek & Murray Literary Agency. Read about what a literary agent does and the current state of the publishing industry.

Gary Dias

September 2007: Gary Dias, Homicide Detective

Gary Dias is a retired Honolulu Police Department Homicide detective. Read his descriptions of crime scene investigations and procedural methods for solving murder cases. Gary is also the author of Honolulu Cop, Honolulu Homicide, and Honolulu CSI.

March 2007: Honolulu Sheriff's Canine Unit

Sgt. Mike Oaklanddrugbust

Sgt. Mike Oakland of the Honolulu Sheriff's Department brought members of the canine unit to show us how dogs are trained to apprehend suspects and sniff out drugs. At right a drug dog identifies a suitcase carrying an illegal substance.
